Atlanta has more great places to ride than most people realize, from car-free paved trails in the city to some of the best mountain biking in the Southeast within an hour's drive. Here are our favorites.
Paved trails and greenways
Atlanta BeltLine
The BeltLine's Eastside Trail is Atlanta's most popular ride, linking Piedmont Park, Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market. It's busy on weekends, so ride early or on weekdays for more room. A comfortable hybrid or e-bike is perfect here. Our Ansley store is a short ride away.
PATH400
A paved greenway through Buckhead alongside GA-400, great for an easy spin or a car-free commute.
Silver Comet Trail
Starting in Smyrna and running west all the way to the Alabama line, where it connects to the Chief Ladiga Trail, the Silver Comet is one of the longest paved trails in the country. Ride as far as you like and turn around. It's close to our Vinings store.
Big Creek Greenway
A shaded, mostly flat path through Alpharetta and Forsyth County with boardwalks over wetlands. Great for families, near our Alpharetta store.
Roswell Riverwalk
A scenic path along the Chattahoochee River in Roswell, close to our Roswell store.
Arabia Mountain PATH
A paved trail southeast of the city that winds past granite outcrops, lakes and woods.
Mountain biking near Atlanta
- Sope Creek (Marietta): fun, rooty trails in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, just outside I-285.
- Blankets Creek (Canton): flowy, well-built trails for every level, from beginner loops to jump lines.
- Allatoona Creek Park (Acworth): miles of rolling singletrack around Lake Allatoona.
- Big Creek Park (Alpharetta): technical, rocky trails right next to the greenway.
- Chicopee Woods (Gainesville): fast, flowing trails worth the drive.
New to trails? A hardtail mountain bike like the Trek Marlin is a great place to start. Check trail conditions before you go, as many trails close after rain.
Gravel and road rides
North Georgia's quiet back roads and gravel routes around Dahlonega and the Chattahoochee National Forest are a favorite day trip for gravel and road riders.
